1 August 1768 - John McFarlin and Mary his wife, Robert McFarlin and Martha his wife, of the County of Orange, North Carolina, to David Doak, 300 pounds, 1020 acres at Black Buffalo Lick on the waters of Wood River (New River). Witnesses: David Cloyd, Israel Christian, Josiah Ramsey, James McBain, Guy Fur (Summers, p. 531).

November Court 1773 - An indenture of Bargain and Sale from John McFarland unto John Finley was proved by the Oaths of James McFarland and Jn. Montgomery Witnesses thereto and ordered to be Certified (Summers, p. 617).


Montgomery County

8 January 1777 - James McFarland is appointed Constable in the Neighborhood of Reed Creek (Summers, p. 677).

7 April 1778 - John McFarland and James Finley served as witnesses in charges against William Strother for passing Counterfeit money (Summers, p. 689).

1 September 1778 - Macfareland vs. Keegley a Jury sworn (to wit) John Macfarelane, William Montgomery, Andrew Crockett .... who returned their verdict for 500 damages, Judgment accordingly and Costs (Summers, p. 698).

20 October 1778 - John McFarlane, Sr. of Parish of Russell, Bedford Co. to John McFarlane, Jr., 367 acres on Reedy Creek, 55 (Summers, p. 912).

5 May 1779 - John McFarelane ... Robert Finley, William Glaves ... Gasper Kinder on Jury duty in prosecution against Duncan O'Gullion for maintaining the Authority of the King of great Britain and Levying was against the People of this State (Summers, p. 710).

7 September 1779 - On the complaint of Robert McFarelane against Daniel Etter for certain offences committed against the Government of this State the prisoner being heard in his defense the Court were of opinion that the sd. Etter be tried by a Jury according to the act of Assembly declaring what shall be certain offences (Summers, p. 723).

3 November 1779 - Ordered that the following sums be paid the following persons for Patrolling out of County Levy ... James McFarelane, 33 days @ 3/8; Joseph McFarelane, 37 days @ 3/8 (Summers, p. 732).

7 March 1780 - John McFarlane on Jury duty in Buchanans Executors vs. William Blevins (Summers, p. 734).

3 April 1771 - Jno MacFarland appd. Ensign in Capt. Stephenses Compy. in the room of Nicholas Cline (Summers, p. 751).

22 February 1785 - Robert McFarland served Jury duty in Callaway & Trents vs. James Skaggs (Summers, p. 782).

22 November 1785 - Claim allowed in the State of the Levey ... Joseph McFarland, for killing four old Wolves, 350 lbs. Tob. (Summers, p. 804).

22 August 1786 - John McFarland, Jr. to Jacob Brooner, 367 acres on N. br. Reed Creek, 250 (Summers, p. 917).

24 May 1787 - Jacob Pruner to John McFarland, 367 acres on N. br. Reed Creek, 63-5-11 (Summers, p. 919).

8 March 1791 - James McFarland appointed Administrator of the estate of William McFarland (Summers, p. 1361).


Washington County

23 November 1780 - Robert McFarland recommended for Ensign (Summers, p. 1068).

21 August 1782 - On motion of John McFarland ... (Summers, p. 1111).

15 July 1783 - Ordered that Richard Price, Robert McFarland, Alexander Scott and Laurence Vanhook or any three of them being first sworn appraise the Estate of Archelaus Woods, deceased and make return to the Court (Summers, p. 1156).

18 May 1784 - Isaac Anderson vs. Isaac Roman - John McFarland comes into Court and says for the Defendant that in case he should be cast into this suit he shall satisfy and pay the condemnation of the Court or render his Body to prison in Execution for the same or that he will do it for him (Summers, p. 1176).

18 August 1784 - John McFarland on Jury in Samuel Lyle vs. John Kirk (Summers, p. 1186).

18 August 1784 - John McFarland on Jury in Andrew Lammey vs. John Hay (Summers, p. 1193).

27 November 1799 - Arthur Campbell and Margaret his wife to John S. MacFarlane and Elizabeth his wife, 400 acres in Washington County. Witnesses: Robert Campbell, Arthur L. Campbell, James O.N. Dailey (Summers, p. 1340).
