George Robinson to John Finley, 892 acres. 13 May 1746

THIS INDENTURE made the thirteenth day of May in the Year of our Lord one

thousand Seven hundred and forty six BETWEEN George Robinson of the County of

Augusta of the one part and John Finly of the County aforesaid of the other part

WITNESSETH that for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds Currt

Money of Virginia to the said George Robinson in hand paid by the said John Finly

at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he

doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth release acquit and discharge the said

John Finly his Executors and Administrators by these presents THE said George

Robinson HATH granted bargained Sold Alioned released and confirmed and by these

presesnts doth grant bargain Sale Alion release and Confirm unto the said John

Finly/: in his Actual possession now being by Virtue of a bargain by Indenture

bearing date the day next before the day of the Date of these presents and by

force of these Statutes for transferring uses into possession and his heirs

forever all that tract or parcell of Land containing Eight hundred and Ninety two

Acres more or less part of Beverly Mannor granted by William Beverly Esqr. to the

said George Robinson by Deed of Lease and Release bearing date twentieth and

twenty first Days of February in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred

thirty Eight relation thereunto being had may more fully and at Large appear

BEGINNING at a Hiccory and two Elms on Shannandore River and Runeth thence North

Seventy Degrees West one hundred and forty two poles to one white oak thence

South twenty degrees West twenty Six poles to two red Oaks thence North Seventy

degrees West one hundred and forty two poles to one white oak and one hiccory

thence South thirty degrees West two hundred and ninety six poles nigh a white

oak in a (?) thence South Seventy degrees East one hundred and Eighty four

poles thence East two hundred and thirty two poles to two pines in the Line of

the old pattent of the said Manner thence with the lines of the said pattent to

two pines in the said Line thence North Sixty Seven degrees West to two white

oaks on Shannandore River thence down the Several Courses of the said River to

the beginning. And all Houses Buildings Orchards Ways Warer Watercourses

Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said premisses hereby granted

or any part thereof belonging or in any wise appurtaining and the Reversion and

Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and profits thereof and also all

the Estate Right Titles Judgments Use Trust property Claim and Demand whatsoever

of him the said George Robinson of in and to the said premisses: And All Deeds

Evidences and writings(?) touching or in any wise concerning the same TO HAVE AND

TO HOLD the said Tract or parcell of Land and all and Singular other the

premisses hereby granted and Released and every part and parcell thereof with

their and every of their Appurtenances unto the said John Finly his heirs and

Assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Finly and

of his heirs and assigns forever And the said George Robinson for himself his

heirs Executors and Administrators doth Covenant promise and grant to and with

the said John Finly his heirs and assigns by these presents That the said George

Robinson now at the time of Sealing and delivering of the presents is seized of a

good Sure perfect and indefeazible Estate of (?) one in fee Simple of and in the premisses hereby

granted and released and that he hath good power and lawfull and absolute authority to grant and

convey the same to said John Finly in Manner and form aforesaid And that the said premises now

are and so forever hereafter Shall remain and be free and clear of and from all former and other

Gifts grants Bargains Sales Dower Right and titles of Dower Judgments Executions Titles

Troubles Charges and Incumbrances whatsoever made done comitted of suffered by

the said George Robinson or any other person or persons whatsoever/ The quit

rents hereafter (?) due and payable to our Soverign Lord the King his heirs and

Successors for and in Release of the said premises only excepted and

foreprized(?):/ And Lastly that the said George Robinson and his heirs all and

Singular the promisses hereby granted and Released with their appurtanences unto

the said John Finly his heirs and assigns (?) him the said George Robinson and

his heirs and all and every other person and persons whatsoever shall and will

warrant and forever defend by theses presents WITNESS whereof the said George

Robinson hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and Year first above written

At a Court continued and held for Augusta County the 13th day of May 1746 George

Robinson acknowledged this his Release for Land indented to John Finly wch on his

Motion is admitted to record And Martha the Wife of the said Robinson being first

privately Examined relinquished her right of Dower to the Land in the said Deed

mentioned wch also is admitted to record
