THIS INDENTURE mad the Fifteenth Day of August in the year of Our Lord one

thousand Seven hundred fifty three BETWEEN Andrew Lewis & Robert McClenehan Gents

of the County of Augusta in the Colony of Virginia Justices in the Commission of

the Peace & Trustees chosen by the Rest of the Court of Augusta of the one Part &

Robert Finley merchant of the County & Colony aforesd of the other Part Whereas

William Beverley of the County of Essix in the Colony aforesd Esqr on the xxii

day of April in the year of our Lord DccxSix(?) by his Deed of Conveyance in

writing under his hand and Seal & Duly Proved & Recorded in the Records of this

County Court of Augusta for the Consideration therein mentioned Did Bargain Sell

Enscoff Release and Confirm unto James Patton John Lewis John Buchanan George

Robinson Peter Scholl James Bode(?) Robert Campbell Robert Cunningham John

Wedion(?) Thomas Lewis James Montgomerie Silas Hart Henry Downs William Jameson

Richard Burlon John Bloo???? Samuel Gay & William Thompson gents Justices in the

Commission of the Peace for this County of Augusta ?????? Successors & Assigns

for the use of this County of Augusta forever all that tract or Parcel of Land

containing Twenty five acres ???? lying and being in Beverley Manner in this

County of Augusta & Surveyed & laid off by an order of ???? & Direction of the sd

William Beverly the use of the Courthouse & County of Augusta forever as by this

Proceeding & Records Relation being thereunto had may more fully and at Large

Appeal and Whereas at a Court Confirmed & held for sd County of Augusta on the

xxviii Day of November MDCCLI(?) it was ordered that this Andrew Lewis & Robert

McClenahan on behalf of themselves & of the Rest of the sd Court & their

Successors Convey the Lotts to the several purchasers out of the twenty five

acres given by William Beverley Esqr to this County as by this order Duly Proved

in the Records of our sd County may more fully appear NOW THIS INDENTURE

witnesseth at the Andrew Lewis & Robert McClenahan on behalf of themselves of the

??? of this Court & to their successors for and in Consideration of the sum of

twelve pounds current money of Virginia for the use of the sd County of Augusta

to them in hand paid by the sd Robert Finley at or before the sealing and

Delivery of the sd presents the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge &

thereof & therefrom doth exonerate request & discharge the sd Robert Finley his

heirs Executors & Administrators by these presents have given granted bargained

sold Enschoffed aliened released & Confirmed and by these presents do give grant

bargain sell enscoff alien release & confirm unto this Robert Finley his heirs

Executors Administrators and assigns forever All those three Lotts of Land Each

containing one half acre of ground lying and being in the Town of Stanton in

Beverley Manner in the sd County of Augusta & being part of the sd Twenty five

acres given by thie sd William Beverley to this County what sd three Lotts are

numbered and bounded as followeth viz. the Lott number four fronting Augusta

Street on the west number seven on the East number five on the North & Beverley

Street on the South & the Lott number three fronting sd Augusta Street on the

west number eight on the East number two(?) where the Court House stands on the

South Beverley Street on the North and the Lott number thirteen Joyning number

twelve on the south Reed(?) Street on the west Beverlys Street on the North & as

apears by a place of the sd town of Stanton..............
