John Finley and Thankful to George Finley, 179 acres, 17 November 1767,

THIS INDENTURE made the seventeenth day of November in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and sixty seven Between John Finley and Thankful his wife of Augusta County of the one Part and George Finley of said County of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Finley and Thankful for and in Consideration of the sum of five shilling current money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said George Finley at or before the sealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these Presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said George Finley and his heirs one Certain tract or parcel of Land Containing one Hundred and seventy nine acres in the aforesaid County and a Part of John Finleys Land he now lives on BEGINNING at two white oaks on the old paton Line thence north thirty Degrees West three Hundred and twenty poles to a white oak and Black oak on a ridge thence north fifty two Degrees West forty eight poles to two Hiccorys and a Black oak By a draft thence south west forty two poles to a white oak by said draft thence south twenty one Degrees west one hundred and fifty four poles to a pine and white oak on a Ridge thence south sixty nine Degrees East twelve poles to two White oaks and a black oak THENCE south sixty seven degrees East sixty one poles to two black oaks and Hiccory on the side of Ridge thence South twenty eight West ten poles to two Hiccorys and Black oak on said Ridge thence south sixty seven Degrees east seventy two poles to a Ground oak on a branch thence North five Degrees East twenty eight poles to a white oak thence North twenty eight Degrees east sixteen poles to a white oak South forty six Degrees East one hundred and sixty three poles to two white oaks in a Draft thence North sixty three Degrees east thirty four poles to the BEGINNING and all houses buildings orchards waywaters Water-courses Profits Commodities Hereditaments and appurtenances Whatsover to the said premises hereby granted or any Part thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents issues and profits thereof to have and to hold the Lands hereby conveyed and all and singular other and premises hereby Granted with the appurtenances unto the said George Finley his Executors administrator and assigns from the day before the date hereof for and during the full term and time of on whole year from thence next insuring fully to be complete and ended yielding and paying therefore the rent of one pepper-corn on Lady-day next if the same shall be Lawfully demanded to the intent and purpose that by virtue of these presents and of the statute for transferring uses into possession the said George Finley may be in actual possession of the premises and be thereby enabled to accept and take A GRANT and Release of the Reversion of inheritance Thereof to him and his heirs IN WITNESS whereof the said John Finley and Thankful Finley have hereunto set their Hand and seal the day and year first above

At a Court Continued and held for August County Nov. the 19th 1767 John Findley acknowledged this his Lease for Land to George Finley which is Ordered to be recorded
