William Finley to son, John Finley, 215 acres on South River in Beverley Manor, 2

THIS INDENTURE made the twenty second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy BETWEEN William Finley of the County of Augusta of the one part and John Finley son to said William of the said County of Augusta of the other part WITNESSETH that the said William Finley for and in Consideration of the sum of five shillings current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John Finley at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said John Finley one peice (sic) or parcel of land containing two hundred and fifteen acres be the saim more or less in Beverly Mannor being a part of a Tract of two hundred and ninety seven Acres laid of for John Finley Senior being his part of a larger Tract of eight hundred and ninety two Acres on both sides of the South River of Shanandore surveyed for John Finley Junior and Bounded as followeth viz BEGINNING at two pines on the Manner line on the South side of the River and thence North East thirty two poles to a small pine and Black Oak North eighty Degrees West two hundred and thirty poles to the River and North sixety four Degrees West fifty poles to a White Oak thence North sixety Degrees West sixety poles to sum small White Oaks thence South fifty Degrees West twenty poles to a Hiccory Saplin by a Road thence North West twenty poles to William Finleys line and with the same North eighty Degrees West forty poles to the old line and with the same South twentynine Degrees West one hundred and twenty poles to a White Oak in Ramseys line thence South seventy one Degrees East one hundred and eighty eight poles to a Shrrubby Oak thence East three hundred and twenty poles crossing said River to the BEGINNING and all Houses Buildings Orchards Ways Waters Water courses Profits Commodities Hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said Premises hereby granted or any part thereof belonging or in any wise appurtaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof to have and to hold the said two hundred and fifteen acres of land be the same more or less and all and singular other the premises hereby granted with the Appurtenances unto the said John Finley his Executors Administrators and assigns from the Day before the Date hereof for and during the full term and time of one whole year from thence next ensuring fully to be complete and ended yealdig and paying therefore the Rent of one year of Indian Corn on Lady Day next if the same shall be lawfully demanded to the intent and purpose that by Virtue of these presents and of the Statute for Transferring uses into possession of the said John Finley may be in actual possession of the premises and be thereby enabled to accept and take a grant and release of the Reversion and Inheritance thereof to him and his Heirs IN WITNESS whereof the said William Finley hath hereunto set his Hand and Seal the Day and year first above Written
