John Finley bonded to Justices in settlement of estate of William McPheeters, 16

March 1773, Augusta County WB V:63

 

KNOW all men by these Presents that we William McPheetters George Berry and John

Findly are held and firmly bound unto Archibald Alexander Abraham Smith Elijah

McClenachan Alexander Robertson and John Trogg Justices in the Commission of the

Peace for Augusta County found in behalf of the Justices of the said County &

their successors in the sum of one Thousand Pounds to be paid to the said

Justices and their successors which Payment will and truly to be made we bind

ourselves & each of us owe and every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators

Jointly & severally firmly by these Presents sealed with our seals and dated this

16th day of March 1773.

 

THE CONDITION of this obligation is such that if the above bound William

McPheeters Executor of the last will & testament of William McPheeters decd do

make or Cause to be made a true and Perfect Inventory of all & Singular the goods

Chattles and Credits of the said decd which have or shall come to the hands

Possessions or knowledge of him the said William or into the hands or Possession

of any other Person or Persons for him and the same so made do exhibit or cause

to be Exhibited into the County Court of Augusta at such time as he shall be

thereunto required by the said Court the same Goods Chattles and Credits & all

other the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased which at any time After

shall come to the hands or Possession of any other Person or Persons for him do

will & truely Administer According to Law and further do make a Just & true

Account of his Actings and doings therein when thereto required by the said Court

and also do will and truely Pay and deliver all legacies Contained and Specified

in the said Testament as far as the said Goods Chattles and Credits will

thereupon extend According to the Value thereof as the law shall Charge then this

Obligation to be Void Otherwise to remain in full force & Virtue

At a Court held for Augusta Count March the 16th 1773 William McPheetters with

George Berry and John Finley his securitys Acknowledged this their Bond and

Ordered to be Recorded.
