David Finley's Patent for 110 acres, 18 November 1791

BEVERLEY RANDOLPH ESQUIRE Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to
whom those present shall come Greeting Know ye that in consideration of the Ancient
Composition of one pound Sterling paid by David Finley into the Treasury of this
Comonwealth, There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said David Finley
assignee of John Finley, a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred
and ten acres by survey bearing date the eighteenth day of November on thousand
seven hundred and ninety (sic) lying and being in the County of Augusta on the
South West side of John Finley's Land and bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning
at a white oak and hickory said Finleys old corner and running with his line,
South thirty seven degrees West fifty four poles to a white oak North thirty six
degrees West one hundred poles to a pine on a high Ridge South six degrees East
seventy poles to a white oak corner to James Wilsons Land, thence with said
Wilsons line, South twelve degrees West sixty two poles crossing the great Road
to a white oak and two black oak saplings--South forty(?) six degrees East one
hundred and sixty poles to two black oak saplings in John Hopemans line North
twenty three degrees East twenty four poles to a black oak and hickery saplings
Hopemans corner North fifty degrees East thirty eight poles to a black sapling
Hopmans corner South seventy(?) five degrees East ten poles to a white oak said
Finleys corner, then with his line North thirty five degrees West one hundred and
two poles to a small pine near a white oak North thirty five degrees East sixty
poles to a Stake Finleys corner North fifty five degrees West fifty poles to the
Beginning. With its appurtenances To Have and to hold the said tract or parcel
of Land, With its Appurtenances to the said David Finley and his heirs for ever.
In Witness whereof the said Beverley Randolph Esquire Governor of the
Commonwealth of Virginia, hath herewith set his hand and Causes the (?) Seal
of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the eighteenth day of
November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one (?)
of the Commonwealth the Sixteenth.
