George Finley of Washington County to David McNair, 20 December 1791,

35 acres, Augusta County DB27:268

 

THIS INDENTURE made the twentyeth day of December, in the year of our Lord god

One thousand Seven hundred and ninety one Between George Finley of the County of

Washington of the one part and David McNair of the County of Augusta of the other

part Witnesseth that the said George Finley for and in Consideration of the sum

of twelve pounds Current Mony of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said McNair

the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and therefore doth release aquit and

discharge the said David McNair his Executors administrators by these presents he

the said George Finley hath granted Bargained sold aliened and Confirmed and by

these presents doth grant Bargain sell alien and Confirm unto the said David

McNair and to his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of Land

containing thirty five acres being a grant made to the said George Finley under

the sail of the Commonwealth and dated the first day of February in the year of

our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty one lying and being in the County

of Augusta on a small branch of the South side of the Middle River of Shanadore

and bounded as followeth to wit beginning at two pines in his old line and corner

to Edward Breadings land and with said Bredings Land North fifty six degrees East

one hundred Sixty four poles to William Andersons line North thirty two degrees

West thirty Eight poles with said line to a cedar on the Bank of the River and

thence South fifty Six degrees west one hundred and forty five poles to a white

oak and Red oak on a Ridge South twenty three degrees west fifteen poles to a

white oak and Black Oak thence south Thirty two degrees East Thirty poles to the

Beginning together with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold

the said Land hereby Conveyed and all and Singular the premises hereby Bargained

and sold with the appurtenances unto the said David McNair his heirs and assigns

forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said David McNair and his

heirs and Assigns forever, and the said George Finley for himself his heirs

Executors and administrators doth Covenant and agree to and with the said David

McNair, his heirs and assigns by these presents that the said tract of Land with

the appurtenances unto the said David McNair his heirs and assigns from the Claim

or demand of his the said George Finley or his heirs or assigns or any other

person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these

presents, In witness whereof the said George Finley hath hereunto set his hand

and seal the day and year first above written
