28 April 1764 - James Finley of Carlisle, Cumberland County, administrator for Robert Finley, dec'd, to Samuel Rippey of Shippensburg, Cumberland County, PA, 500 acres in Guilford township, late the property of Robert Finley . . . by land of Jacob Snively . . . Dry Spring . . .lands of Francis Urry(?) (Cumberland County, PA DB 2A:227). Note: A James Finley is on the tax list in Guilford for 1753, 1762, 1763, then disappears from the list (Tax Records, Cumberland County, PA). No other Finleys appear in Guilford during the period 1750 to 1770, although there are many Finleys in other townships in Cumberland County for this time period.

James and Elizabeth (Patterson) Finley are in Lurgan in 1751; widow Finley in 1753. Other Lurgan Finleys include Andrew (1751), John, Sr. (1751), John, Jr. (1751), Robert (1751), John (1753, 1764, 1768), Alexander (1768), Joseph (1770?), Robert (1770?).
