children, but in full hope of resurrection of the just."

Oct. 1808. "After an active life devoted to mercantile

pursuits through which talents, integrity, industry and

perseverence were equally conspicuous." (The former

monument to William King being injured by age and

broken, the trustees of Abingdon Male Academy have

erected this in grateful appreciation of his generous

donation to that school. 1912)
