THIS INDENTURE, made this eleventh day of October one thousand seven hundred and ninety four, between Isaac Newland of the county of Washington of the one part and William Richardson and Robert Glenn of the county aforesaid of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Isaac Newland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and 66 Dollars current money of Virginia to him in hand paid. Doth bargain and sell unto the said William Richardson and Robert Glenn and their heirs one certain tract or parcel of Land in the said county of Washington containing two hundred and thirty four acres being in the Rich Valley on Meadow branch the waters of the North fork of Holstein river being part of a Tract of Land granted to said Newland assignee of John Kinkead, by Deed the twentieth day of June One thousand seven hundred and eighty six and bounded as follows, to wit. BEGINNING at two black oaks on the South side of a hill and on the old line and with the same South sixty nine degrees west two hundred and twenty two poles to a buckeye and white Walnut, West one hundred and forty poles crossing a branch to two white oaks and a double dogwood North fourteen degrees west thirty seven poles to a large black oak dogwood and walnut sapling at the foot of the Knobs and along them North sixty degrees east three hundred and seventy three poles to a large white oak corner to Hugh Brysons Land and with a line thereof, South fifteen degrees East one hundred and forty poles to the Beginning Together with all its appurtenances TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said William Richardson and Robert Glen and their heirs, to the sale use behoof of them the said William Richardson and Robert Glen and their heirs forever. And the sd Isaac Newland for himself and his heirs doth covenant with the said William Richardson & Robert Glen and their heirs, that he the said Isaac Newland and his heirs the said land with all the appurtenances unto the said William Richardson and Robert Glen and their heirs against all persons whatever will forever warrant and defend. In Witness whereof the said Isaac Newland hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his Seal the day and year above written.
