John Armour Findley Agreement with Isaac Berry (Berey),

50 acres on North Branch of Beaverdam,

21 August 1783, Bedford County DB 7:231

 

KNOW ye and all Men by these presents that I John Armour findley of Bedford

County and State of Virginia have Covennted and agread with Isaac Bury of the

aforesaid County to Lece unto him on sertain parcel of Land Containing to fifty

acres of Land lauing on the South end of my Land and westward from the Spring

appointed by us the Subscriber Laing on the side(?) of North Branch of Beverdamb

for enduring the life of the foresaid Isaac Bury he performing the articles now

to be menshened that is that I Isaac Bury is to pay the Taxes of 60 Hundred and

fifteen akers of Land for enduring this Lece and Likewise to make and to mend

shoes for four in family for endureing the Lece and the above Isaac is not to

sell nor convey this Lece to any other Person whatsoever nor to put any other

there to dwell otherways this Lece shall be avoid and of no affect and for the

true performers of the aforesaid obligation I John Armour Findley doo bind myself

my ares and assines to Warrant and defend the above menshoned fifty acors of Land

to Isaac Bery for endureing his life time and ef the said Isac Bery should die

then his widow Elizabeth Bury shall possess the above menshened Land while she

Remans Burys Widow and no longer and for the True perforemence of the above

agreements We John Armour Findely and Isaac Bury anterchncbley set our hands and

sales this 21st day of August 1783
