David Finley to Paul Hulse, Jr., for debt, 299 acres, 23 December 1811, Clarke

County, KY DB 8:220.

 

This Indenture made this 23rd day of Decr in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven between James Sympson deputy Sheriff for David Hampton Sheriff of Clarke County of the one part, and Paul Hulse Jr. Of the other part Witnesseth that whereas the said James Sympson deputy Sheriff as afforesaid did on the 7th day of Decr 1811 Sell unto the said Paul Hulse two hundred and ninety nine acres of land for the sum of one hundred and twenty three dollars current money of the United States of America to be paid three months after the date of said sale which said land was sold as the property of David Finley under an act of assembly entitled an act to amend an act entitled an act subjecting land to the payment of debts to satisfy two executions from the Circuit Court of Clarke County in favor of John Martin against the said David Finley which said 299 acres is bounded as follows Beginning at a hickory sugartree and by? the north corner of 1000 acres in the name of James Crockett assee of Wm Newell under which said Finley claims & runs S 38 W 273 poles to three sugartrees & two white oak saplins thence east 440 poles to a stake in the original claim of sd Crocketts Survey thence N 52 W 351 poles to the beginning and including the residence of the said David Finley on the 7th of December 1811 together with all and Singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the only proper use and behoof of him the said Paul Hulse Jr. his heirs and assigns forever. To have and to hold the afforesaid land & premises with all and Singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the said James Sympson as deputy for David Hampton sheriff of Clarke doth by these presents convey to the said Paul Hulse Jr. all the right title interest claim and demand of him the said David Finley which he possessed on the above described land and premises hereby sold agreeable to the afforsd act of Assembly subjecting land to the payment of debts. In Witness whereof the said James Sympson as deputy afforsd has hereunto set his hand & seal the date above written

This Indenture of bargain and sale from James Sympson deputy sheriff for David Hampton Sheriff of Clarke County to Paul Hulse Jr. was acknowledged by the said James Sumpson deputy as aforesaid (before me) to be his act and deed and Committed to record
