George Finley debt to Henry Daugherty, 7 September 1786, Mercer Co., KY,

The Commonwealth of Virginia to the Sheriff of Mercer County Greeting We Command you that you summon Mary Lamb and Martin Frayzier to appear before the Justices of our said County Court on the first Tuesday of November next to testify and the truth to say in behalf of Henry Daugherty in a certain matter of Controversy in our said Court depending and undetermined between Henry Daugherty Plaintiff and John Finley Defendant and this they shall in wise omit under the penalty of one hundred pounds and have then there this writ Witness, Thomas Allin Clerk of our said Court at the Courthouse aforesaid the 7th day of Sept 1766 And in the Eleventh year of the Commonwealth.

To the Worshipful Court of Mercer County the Petition of Henry Daugherty Humbly Showeth that George Finley stands to him 3 pounds due by accom... and refuseth payment wherefore your Petitioner prays Judgement against him with costs.

And Shall pray

 

The Commonwealth of Virginia To the Sheriff of Mercer County Greeting: you are hereby Commanded to Summon George Finley to appear before the Justices of our said County Court on the first Tuesday in November next to answer the petition of Henry Daugherty exhibited against him and have then there his Writ Witness Thomas Allin Clerk of our said Court at the Courthouse aforesaid the 7th day of Sept 1786 in the Eleventh year of Commonwealth.
