Matthew Patton to Samuel Finley of Hardin County, KY, 550 acres on Bacon Creek, Hardin County, 26 April 1802, Clarke County DB 4:384.

 

This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and two Between Mathew Patton of the County of Clarke and State of Kentucky of the one part and Samuel Finley of the County of Hardin and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Mathew Patton for and in consideration of the sum of four & fifty three pounds Current money of Kentucky hath granted bargained sold alliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant Bargain Sell allien and confirms unto the said Samuel Finley his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of Land containing five hundred and fifty acres lying and being in the County Hardin and State aforesaid on Bacon Creek a Branch of Nolin waters of Green river and Bounded as followeth (To Wit) Begining at a black oak on the South Bank of the said Creek and running North Twenty degrees west one hundred and Seventy poles to three white oaks crossing said creek then North Seventy degrees East one hundred and eight poles to a large white oak and two hickorys thence South Twenty degrees East forty poles to three white oaks Then north Seventy degrees East Sixty poles to three white oaks thence south eighty nine degrees East two hundred and fifty poles to two large white oaks thence north thirty East one hundred and sixty eight poles to three white oaks thence North Twenty degrees west eighty poles to two white oaks thence north seventy degrees East one hundred and Eighty poles to two Black oaks and hicory on the north bank of bacon Creek then down the Several meanders of said creek and Bending therewith to the Begining and the said Mathew Patton for himself his heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Samuel Finley his Heirs and assigns by these presents that the premisses before mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all former and other gifts grants bargains sales dowerright title of dower judgments executions titles trouble charges and incumbrances whatsoever done or suffered to be done by him the said Mathew Patton his Heirs or assigns and the said Mathew Patton and his Heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Samuel Finley his Heirs and assigns against him the Mathew Patton and his heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof him the said Mathew Patton hath hereunto set his hand the day and year first above written
