In the name of God Amen
I William Finley of the County of Christian and State of Kentucky being somewhat advanced in years and by means given in body but of sound mind and Memory do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form as follows that is to say first I will that all my just debts be paid 2nd I will that my oldest son Ely Finley have my wheelwright shop timber and all the tools appertaining thereto 3rd I will that my second son William A. Finley have one third of the tract of Land on which I now live to be laid of[f] on the West parts of said Land so as to include my dwelling house & farm and to be laid of as near the course as may be of the Western line of the 200 Acres pattented to James Cannon on which my house stands. Also I bequeath to said William a horse called Bawl(?) about four years old and a Milk & Cider coloured Mare of same Age Also I bequeath to said William my Negro Man named Jo and the second choice of beds and ordinary furniture for a bed Also his choice of a Barthear and shovel with two pair of gears(?) to plow with and a hoe and arc(?) Also my yoke of Oxen and four choice cows with their calves (after Betsey chooses one) Also I allow him to have ten head choice of sheep and ten choice hogs and one hundred barrels of Corn be it understood that in consequence of William A. Finley having considerably more than an equal shar with the rest of his Sisters and Brothers he is to support my three daughter until they become Married in boarding & materials to spin & wheels ? Also to raise board cloth and School my two younger Sons namely Walk & Jerome so tha they be made good English schollars or in case the said Wm A. Finley fails to do any of the above that is to be done by my executor or administrator at said Williams expence or if he be unable or unwilling to defray said expence that m executor or administrator is hereby authori?[ized] to sell so much of sai Williams Legacy personal or Real or to hire said Negro man Jo out so long as may be sufficient to defray said expence from time to time (fourthly) I allow and bequeath the balance of my Land in Christian County to my two Daughters Betsey Finley & Nancy Finley to be divided as follows Begining at the most south west corner of the Land of Aron Lewis deceased & running a line such a cource so as to let the said Betsey and Nancy have equal quantities I bequeath to my daughter Betsey the northern half near to the Salubrious spring meeting house I bequeath to my daughter Nancy the Southern half adjoining or lying towards Silas Garland I furthermore direct that thirty acres be laid of[f] of Betseys part of said Land adjoining to the parts bequeathed to my son William that is thirty Acres to be laid of her western boundary & not to run more South than the Survey patented to James Cannon to be laid of[f] at each end(?) at eaqual breadths the benifit of the use of the timber of said thirty Acres I bequeath to my son Ely Finley and Nancy Finley for the term of twenty years then to revert to said Betsey I Also bequeth to my daughter Betsey the second choice of my beds and ordinary furniture for one bed and the choice of one of my cows and calves. (Fithly) in addition to the aforesaid legacy of Land bequeathed to my daughter Nancy Finley I add the third choice of my beds and ordinary furniture for one bed. (Sixthly) I bequeth to my daughter Polly the fourth choice of my beds and ordinary furniture for one bed Also my Negro woman Hagar I further direct that the balance of my goods chattles be sold on twelve months credit so that my Negro Man Stephen be hired out for five years annually to some place or to some considerable man or men, and owning two Quarter sections of Land in the State of Missouria on which the United States price is yet nearly all to pay. I therefore direct my Executor or Administrator to pay the same and taxes thereon. and do in the seventh place bequeath said two Quarter Sections after they are patented and clear of any demand against them to my two youngest Sons Walker Finley and Jerome Finley the said two Quarter Sections I hold Dabney Finleys bond for so soon as I cause the patents to Issue. I Also bequeath to my Daughter Polly the aforesaid Negro Man Stephen after he has been hired out for five years as before directed also one third of the Money ariving from the hire of said Stephen and Sailes of good and Chattles and Money on hand or in other words one third of the money there is in the hands of my Executor or Administrator. I Also bequeath to my sons Walker and Jerome the other two thirds of the Money then in the hands of my Executor or Administrator. I Also direct that Betsey have her choice of my Cupboard Bereu looms & Appertenances that Nancy have the next choice and Polly the last and that William have my best Table & Cupboard furniture. It is furthermore my will that in case any of my Children die before they are of Age & fully realize the possession of their respective Legacy that said legacy be equally divided among all my Children. I Also Nominate & Appoint Edward Bradshaw John P. Finley and Ely Finley or any two of them as my Executors. To this My Last will & Testament.

The foregoing last will and testament of William Finley deceased was this day produced in Court and proven by the several Oaths of Philander Finley and Holeman Minnis Burt subscribing witness thereto to be the Act and Deed hand and Seal of said decedent for the purposes therein and the same was ordered to be Recorded whereupon the same together with this certificate are duly Recorded in my Office
