Edmond and Catharine Finley of Orange County, IN

to Jonah Harris of Washington County, IN,

This Indenture made and entered into this seventeenth day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred nineteen between Edmond Finley and Catharine his wife of Orange County & State of India of the one part and Jonah Harris of Washington County State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Edmond Finley & Catherine his wife for & in consideration of sixty dollars lawful money of the State of Indiana to them in hand paid before the sealing & delivery hereof the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained & sold & by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto the said Jonah Harris his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract of land being & being (sic) on Lost River in Washington County in Section ten South East quarter of said Section in Township two North of Range two East & bounded as follows beginning at a white oak corner of said quarter section thence South Eighty three degrees west eight poles to a hickory & sugar tree near the Creek thence South sevendy(?) East seven poles to an Elm thence South Eighteen degrees west three poles to a Stake thence South one & a half degrees west twenty one poles to a Stake on the Bank of the Creek thence South thirteen & three fourth degrees west to a Stake eighteen & three fourth poles thence South seven degrees East thirty poles to a Stake thence North Eighty three degrees East Eighty poles to a Sugar tree & ??? thence North seven degrees west Eighty poles to the beginning which tract contains about forty acres & two roods to have & to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Jonah Harris his heirs & assignes to his & their only use & behoof forever & the said Edmond Finley & Catherine his wife do covenant and agree to & with the said Jonah Harris his heirs & assigns that the premises hereby bargained and sold now are & forever and forever (sic) of Dower or other encumberance whatever and that they the said Edmond Finley & Catharine his wife will & their heirs executors & administrators shall unto the said Jonah Harris his heirs & assigns against all & every person or persons whatever lawfully claiming or to claim the said land in testimony whereof we the said E Finley Catharine have hereunto set our hands & seals the date above written.
