This Indenture Made this twenty fourth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and ninety five
Between Patrick Jack of Franklin County in the State of Pennsylvania by Stephen Duncan of Knoxville his Attorney in fact of the one part and John Finley of the County of Knox and Territory of the United States of America South of the River Ohio of the other part - witnesseth that the said Patrick Jack for and in consideration of the sum of twenty four thousand Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged hath and by these presents doth grant bargain
Sell alien enscoff and confirm unto the said John Finley his heirs and assigns forever
A certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being as follows Beginning three miles above the mouth of Tellico River on the South Bank of the Tennessee River and running down the said Tennessee River and out so as to include fifteen miles Square which Tract of Land was granted to Patrick Jack of Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania by Deed from the Little Carpenter a Cherokee Chief of the Over hill Towns and Gover Dobbs of the State of North Carolina
to him the said Patrick Jack in the year seventeen hundred and sixty two - Together With all and Singular the Woods Waters Watercourses profits Commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract of Land belonging or appertaining - and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents and issues thereof - and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of him the said Partick Jack his heirs vc of in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof either in Law or Equity - To have and to hold the said piece or parcel of Land with the apurtenances unto the said John Finley his heirs and assigns forever
Against the lawful title claim and demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents - In Witness whereof the said Patrick Jack by Stephen Duncan his attorney hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written

Note: According to Stout, Martha Finley (4-04-41.6), b. 1745 m. 6/27/1765 Capt. Patrick Jack of 6th Company, Cumberland County, PA militia. She died in Knox County, TN. She the daughter of John Finley (3-04-4), b. 1719, and Mary Rippey.
He died 1783 in Letterkenny Twp., Cumberland County, PA (WB A:200). He the son of John Finley (2-04) (1691-1769) and Alice Mitchell; brother to James Finley
(2-02).
