This Indenture made this twenty fourth day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Between Thomas Dix of the County of Knox and State of Tennessee of the one part & John Finley of the County and State aforesaid of the other part - Witnesseth that the Said Thomas Dix for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enscoff and confirm unto the said John Finley his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land containing four hundred acres be the same more or less lying and being in the middle District on Wool River it being a part of a one thousand acres Tract Deeded from Francis Mayberry to the above mentioned
Thomas Dix and which said four hundred acres is to be laid off equal in Quality and agreeable to qualy? whole of the one thousand acres with all and singular the Woods Waters watercourses profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract of Land belonging or apertaining and the reversion & reversions remainder and remainders rents and issues thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of him the said Thomas Dix his heirs vc of in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof either in Law or Equity - To have and to hold the said four hundred acres of Land with the appurtenances unto the sd John Finley his heirs and assigns forever Against the Lawful title claim and demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents - In Witness whereof the said Thomas Dix hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written -
