John Ballinger of Upper Louisiana to James Finley of Knox County,

20 February 1809, 200 acres on Cumberland River and Meadow Creek,

This Indenture made this twentieth (thirtieth?) day of February in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and nine and in the thirty third year of American ??? between John Ballinger of the Upper Louisiana of the one part and James Finley of the county of Knox and State of Kentucky of the other part Witness that he the said John Ballinger hath for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds to him in hand paid the receipt whereof the said John Ballinger doth acknowledge himself fully satisfied paid and contended have given granted bargained sold delivered and by these presents Finley fully & absolute give grant bargain sell release convey and confirm unto the said James Finley his heirs, Executor, & Admns & assigns forever all & singular a certain Tract or parcel of land situate in the Count of Knox and State of Kentucky lying on Cumberland River and Meadow Creek a branch thereof & bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning ??? to the words? of the location where Andrew Dumoss northeast corner ought to be a beach and ??? thence South one hundred & eighty poles to three Maples on the Bank of Cumberland River being Dumasses Beginning, thence up the river one hundred and eighty poles ??? to a K??? line to Thomas Mahans lower corner???? a walnut & maple thence north forty five West with said Mahans line one hundred & eighty poles to his corner a sweetgum then North twenty two East with another of said Mahans lines sixty poles to a state on said line, thence West one hundred fifty seven poles & a half crossing Meadow Creek to a hickory and beach thence South one hundred & forty poles running down with the meander course of Meadow Creek to large white oaks on Dumass line thence with said line one hundred and twenty poles to the Beginning, containing two hundred acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the above said tract of land every part or parcel thereof together with the profits privilege hereditament & appurtenances thereon . . .
