Note: According to Dorothy Gillespie, 717 Highland Ave., Malvern, AR 72104, this James Gillespie with wife Sarah, was the grandson of James, Sr. and Jennet of Augusta County, through their son, John. She states further that the John mentioned here (son of James, Sr. and Jennet), died 16 March 1796 and that his son, James was killed by Indians in October 1788. James and Sarah had two minor children at the time of his death ... mentioned in court records. This is the James and Sarah of Sevier County, NC (or State of Franklin) who sold land on Elk Run in Augusta County to Andrew Lacky.
