11 April 1764 - William Finley born in Lincoln County, NC (France undocumented).

Before 1784 - Married Jean Kennedy (France undocumented).

13 December 1785 - 22 October 1804 - Wm. Finley witness in Blount County to deed from thomas Thompson of Augusta County to Jacob Peck.

Before 1786 - John Crockett, father of Davey, moved from Lincoln County, NC to Greene County, TN (Katherine White, p. 164).

17 August 1786 - David Crockett born in Greene County, TN (Katherine White, p. 164).

4 June 1787 - John Crockett of Greene County to John Woods of Sullivan County, 200 acres on Linvil Creek; signed John Crocket & Rebekah Crockett (Watauga Association of Genealogists Bulletin, vol. 2, no. 2, summer-fall, 1973).

About 1788 - Mary (Polly) Finley born, Nolechucky River area (France undocumented).

18 June 1803 - William Finley, 100 acres on Tuckaleechy in Blount County appears on delinquent tax list (Eddlemon, p. 291).

25 August 1803 - Agnes Moreson vs. Wm. Finley in Blount County.

25 April 1804 - William Finley named as son-in-law in will of James English in Greene County (Burgner, p. 8).

1805 - William Finley named on Greene County tax list (Creekmore, p. 179).

14 August 1806 - Mary (Polly) Finley marries David Crockett in Jefferson County (Lofaro, p. xxi).

29 October 1806 - Marshall's sale of 100 acres on Turkey Creek adj. John Finley, belonging to William Finley, for delinquent taxes, Blount County (Thomas, p. 138, DB 1:138).

20 April 1811 - William Finley granted 145 acres in Hawkins County, District of Washington on north side of Holston River and both sides of Stage Road leading from Knoxville to Abingdon where Jacob Cline, decd, formerly lived ... mentions Henderson's line; Grant #1914 (LDS #1012794, Tennessee Land Grants, vol. 3, 1810-1814).

28 September 1812 -Sheriff's sale in Blount County, property on Nine Mile Creek adjacent to William Finley on south side of Creek (Thomas, p. 235).

14 February 1814, James Finley will names wife Prudence: sons Samuel, William; daughters Nancy McCollough, Sally Argenbright, Prudence Finley; Hawkins County WB 1:181.
