Finley and Rippey Miscellaneous Documents,

Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, 1772 to 1818.

20 September 1772 - John Finley late of South Carolina claims inheritance due his daughters, Esther, wife of William Patterson, and Margaret Finley, due them from their mother's inheritance. Their mother was Elizabeth (Harris) Finley, daughter of John Harris of Paxton Township, Lancaster County, now both deceased. Property located on west side of Susquehanna River, bounded on south by Canadagwine? Creek. Harris' daughter Elizabeth was entitled to one seventh share of his land. Witnesses: John Crane, John Phillips. Cumberland County DB 1-C:344.

28 July 1794 - Alexander McNickle of Newton Township, Cumberland County to Samuel Finley, Alexander Brown, and Daniel Brown of Newton Township, 60, 91 acres 29 perches. Neighbors: Thomas Murray. Warrant dated 13 April 1787 to McNickle. Witnesses: Jas. McFarlane, Buchanan. Cumberland County DB 1-L:177.

8 September 1804 - Samuel Rippey Will. Names wife, Mary; son, John; daughter Isabella, wife of William Bailey; grandson, Samuel Bailey; son, Armstrong; daughters Peggy, Harriet, Molly; granddaughter, Marian Smyth, daughter of deceased daughter Elizabeth and Hugh Smith. Executors: Wife Mary, son John and Doctor John Simpson of Shippensburg. Witnesses: Wm Rippey, John Shipen. Proved: 3 January 1805. Cumberland County, WB G:96.
