This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of February in ye year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred & Eighty. Between Henry Good of the County of Craven and State of South Carolina Yeoman of the one part and John Finley of the County and State aforesaid, wheelwright, of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of two thousand pounds current money of the State aforesaid to ye said Henry Good to him in hand paid by the said John Finley at & before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given, Granted, Bargained, Sold, Aliened, Enscoffed, conveyed and confirmed & by these presents doth Give, Grant, bargain, see, alien, enscoff, and absolutely convey and confirm unto the said John Finley his heirs & assigns forever, all that tract piece or parcel of Land, Situate, lying & being in the State aforesaid, on the North side of the Southfork of Fishing Creek, Joining lines with William Calley, John Ash, and lands formerly belonging to John Bratton, Beginning at a Stake near John Ash's Corner and running thence with his line S 55E 66 poles to a Stake, then N 35E 240 poles to a Stake, then N 55W to John Bratton's line, then S 35W 200 poles to William Calley's line thence running with his line to the beginning, being part of a tract of Land Granted unto Ephraim McLean by Patent bearing date the Sixteenth day of November 1764. Relation thereunto being had may more at large appear, the said tract or parcel being made over by Ephraim McLean to John Davison upon ye twenty fifth day of September, one thousand Seven hundred & Sixty six, and from John Davison to ye said Henry Good by Lease & Release bearing date the sixth day of April one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy one containing by Estimation two hundred & thirty acres of Land be the same more or less with the appurtenances, Situate lying & being as aforesaid with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances whatsoever and the Reversion and Reversions, Remainder & Remainders of all and singular the said Lands, tenements, hereditaments and premises hereby granted or intended to be granted or any part or parcel of them or any of them incident belonging or in any wise appertaining, and also all and every of the Estate and Estates, Rights, titles, claims, interests and demands whatsoever of him ye said Henry Good in, to, or out of the said Lands tenements, hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned to be granted or any of them or any part or parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said Lands, tenements, hereditaments, and premises hereby granted with their appurtenances unto the said John Finley his heirs and assigns and to the only proper use and behoof of his the said John Finley his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Henry Good for himself his heirs, Executors & administrators doth hereby promise covenant and agree that to the said Henry Good his heirs Executors and Administrators shall & will at all times warrant and forever defend the said premises unto the said John Finley his heirs and assigns, against all lawful claims and demands whatsoever whereby the above mentioned premises might or may be affected or incumbered contrary to the true intent and meaning of these presents. In Witness whereof the said Henry Good has hereunto set his hand and Seal the day month and year first above written.

York County Be if remembered that on the 3d day of July 1786 that personally appeared James McReynolds and made oath that he was present and saw Henry Good Sign, Seal & acknowledge the within instrument of writing for the use & purpose therein mentioned, and that Robert and Thomas Good was Subscribing Witness with him Sworn to the day and year above written before W. Bratton.
