John Findley, Ann Findley (his mother) and Elizabeth Findley (his wife) ofChester County, SC to Charles Barber of Kershaw County, SC, 450 acres on Beaver Creek, Craven County (now in Kershaw County), formerly belonging to John Findley, deceased, 27 September 1792. Kershaw County DB B:162.

State of South Carolina. This Indenture made the twenty seventh day of September

Anno Domino One thousand seven hundred and ninety two and of American Independence

the seventeenth Between John Findley and Ann Findley mother of said

John Findley and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Chester and state aforesaid

of the one part and Charles Barber of Kershaw County and state aforesaid planter

of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Findley and Ann Findley his

mother and Elizabeth his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of sixty pounds

sterling good and lawful money of the state aforesaid to them in hand well and

truly paid by the said Charles Barber the receipt whereof the said Findleys doth

hereby acknowledge they the said John Findley Ann Findley his mother and

Elizabeth his wife hath bargained granted sold alained inscofed and confirmed and

by these presents doth bargain grant sell alien enscoff and confirm unto the said

Charles Barber his heirs and assigns forever that plantation or Tract of land

containing four hundred and fifty Acres situate laying and being on the branches

of beaver Creek in Craven County (now Kershaw County) bounding east on Roger

Pinckneys and vacant lands and on all other sides (when surveyed by Vacant Land

and hath such shape form and marks as appears by a platt thereof Annexed to the

Grant of the said land said Grant bearing date the thirteenth day of may one

thousand seven hundred and sixty eight to John Findley now deceased and surveyed

for him and Certified by William Glascock the first day of february One thousand

seven hundred and Sixty Eight the said four hundred and fifty Acres of land

decended to the first above mentioned John Findly by heirship according to Law

except the third part thereof to his mother Ann Findley for her lifetime Together

with all and Singular the woods Trees water and water courses profits commodities

appurtenances and hereditaments whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise

appertaining and also the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents

and services of the said premisses and of every part and parcel thereof and all

the Estate right title interest claim and Demand whatsoever of them the said John

Findley Ann Findley his mother and Elizabeth his wife of in and to the said

plantation or tract of land Containing four hundred and fifty Acres and every

part thereof To have And to hold the said Messuage or Tenemant of land and all

and singular the premisses above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with

the appurtenances unto the said Charles Barber his heirs and assigns to the only

proper use and behoof of the said Charles Barber his heirs and assigns forever

and the said John Findley and Ann Findley his mother and Elizabeth his wife for

themselves and their heirs the said Messuage or Tenement and premisses and every

part thereof against them and their heirs and against all and every other person

and persons whatsoever to the said Charles Barber his heirs Executors

administrators or assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these

presents In Witness whereof the said parties have hereunto set their hands and

seals the Day and Year first above Written ...

County and made oath as Law diarects that he say John Findley Ann Findley

Elizabeth Findley sign seal and deliver the within Instrument of writing to

Charles Barber for the use within mentioned and he saw Thomas Findley and John W.

Creary Esquire sign as Concoring witnesses with himself
