Gilbert Christian and Margaret Richardson married in Ireland (Scotch-Irish and came to American 1707(?) with sons Robert, John, and William, and daughter, Mary, all of whom moved & settled at Christian's Creek in Augusta County, Va around 1732. Daughter Mary married John Moffett of Moffett's Creek ????Trimble. John married Margaret ??? & William married Molly Campbell (sister of Col. Wm Campbell and nephew of Earl of Argyle, Scotland) of King's Mt. men. Robert Christian and Isabella Tiffins(?) were married at Winchester Va 17-- (while acting as executive officer in French & Indian War) Their children were Gilbert, Margaret, John, Robert, Mary, William, Israel & Jacob of whom - John Christian married Rachel Brownlee (Huguenot family) their children were Robert, John Brownlee, Isabella (Patrick), William, Ebenezer, James & Israel (twin) Sally (Wallace) Archy? Maternal Ancestors

William Finley, wife "Elenor" born of Scotch parents - 1720 in Armagh Co, Ulster Province, Ireland. In 1735 came with six brother & a sister, to Penn (one brother was Rev. Dr. Samuel Finley , Prest Princeton College, NJ. Another Rev. James Finley of Westmoreland Co., Pa & the sister was mother of Jno. Rush & was mother of Dr. Benj Rush of Phila). William married four times, in Penn - son Michael Finley (son of Wm & Elenor) was born in Chester Co, Pa and married Mary Waugh and lived in Adams Co., Pa - their children - William, Samuel, Michael, Ruth H removed to valley of Va 1790

Samuel Finley and Mary Tate (daughter of John Tate (son of Robert) the delegate of Augusta in Va Legislature 1799 ??) were married in 1795 - their children were - Jane Tate (Christian), John Tate (???), Nancy (Hall), Maria Waugh (Jones), Caroline (Harper, NC), William (Miss?), and Samuel Brown. Mary Tate Finley died in 1829, and

Samuel Finley died May 1849. Both buried in Bethel [Presbyterian Church] graveyard

Mary Christian (1st husband, John Moffett was supposed to have been killed by the Indians, & after 7 years the war(?) and Trimble ???? of Ohio. Jno Trimble, whose father was James was killed by Indians, gr. father of ??? of Churchille of Jennings(?) Br.

John Finley - was the discoverer of Ky and after two trips took Daniel Boone with him.

Samuel Finley married Mary Tate, daughter of John Tate (in Va Legislature 1799) and Jane Berry ???? buried at Old ???? Church.

Mary Moffett married John Trimble - killed by Indians on Jennings Br & father of Capt Jas. of US ??? gr-father of Ellen Trimble of O.

Col. Wm - Commander after battle of ??? - member of the VA House of Burgess 1773-4 - killed in Ky by the Indians - 1780 - aged 36 years married Anne(?) sister of Patr Henry.
