Dear Mr. Pope:

I'm happy to write you of the data that is available to me. I have only a few entries, and because these lie much farther in the past, eventual questions can be answered possibly by writing Stadtarchiv (State Archives) of 3330 Helmstedt.

Catharina Pabst born Helmstedt around 1576, died Helmstedt 4 June 1616. She was married to Hermann Christ before August 1601. Her parents Conrad (also Curd) died in Helmstedt, 3 August 1599. He was a citizen and city council manager of Helmstedt and later city commissioner (Ratsherr) around 1540-1599. He was married before 1576 to Catharina Wrede. First records found were after 1576. Her father Heinrich Wrede, birth date unkown, death date in 1576; records found in Helmstedt.

Because the parents of Catharina Pabst surely, as was common, would have had many children. It could be possible that one of the sons, perhaps, led to the Pabst you are looking for.
