Hugh Hackney of Monroe County to George Hackney, 14 December 1836, Blount County,

This Indenture made this tenth day of December Eighteen hundred & thirty six between Hugh Hackney of the County of Monroe State of Tennessee of the first part & George Hackney of the County of Talapoosa & State of Alabama Witnesseth that the said Hugh Hackney for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred & fifty Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt wherof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold & by these presents doth bargain & sell unto the said George Hackney his heirs and assigns forever his undivided share of all the right and title that the said Hugh Hackney has unto the lands mills & tenements lying and being on the waters of Gallihers Creek it being the lands mills and tenements which belonged to John Hackney Junior Deceased together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtainces thereunto belonging and the said Hugh Hackney shall and by these presents will forever warrant and defend the right and title hereby conveyed unto the said George Hackney his heirs & assigns and against all the every other person or persons whatever in witness whereof he has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written. Personally appeared before me Alex(?) Henry Deputy Clerk of the County Court of Blount County John Hackney Francis Hackney the two subscribing witnesses to the within deed of conveyance who did solemly afirm that they seen Hugh Hackney sign his name to said instrument of writing & herd him acknowledge the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein contained on the day the same bears doth witness my hand at office in Maryville the 14th Decr 1836.
