Joseph Hackney to John Hackney, 13 January 1835

This indenture made this thirteenth day of January Eighteen hundred & thirty five between Joseph Hackney of the one part and John Hackney of the other part both of the County of Blount and State of Tennessee Witnesseth that the said Josep Hackney for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said John Hackney his heirs and assigns forever his undivided share of all the right & title that he the said Joseph Hackney has unto the lands and tenements and Mills lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Gallars Creek it being the lands Mills & tenements which belonged to John Hackney Jr deceased together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtances thereunto belonging and the said Joseph Hackney aforesaid shall and by these presents will forever warrant and defend the right and title hereby conveyed unto the said John Hackney his heirs and assigns against him the said Joseph Hackney his heirs and against all and every other person or persons whatever In Witness whereof he has herewith set his hand and Seal the day and year above written Signed sealed and delivered in presence of

Personally appeared before me Jeremiah Kennon Clk of the County Court of said County James Janes one of the subscribing witnesses this day and Samuel Lee the other Witness before AK Henry DC on the 10th Sept 1838 and after being duly examined doth say they were personally acquainted with Josep Hackny the within named bargainor and seen him sign and heard him aknowledge the within deed to be his act and deed for the purposes there in contained on the day it purports to bear date.
