James Hackney to John Hackney, 26 September 1835, Blount County, TN, DB N:190

This indenture made this twenty sixt day of September Eighteen hundred and thirty five between James Hackney of the County of Madison and state of Indiana of the first part and John Hackney of the County of Blount and state of Tennessee of the second part Witnesseth that the said James Hackney of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said John Hackney his heirs and assigns forever his undivided share of all the right and title that the said James Hackney has unto his lands and tenements and Mills lying and being in the County of Blount and state of Tennessee on the waters of Gallehers Creek it being the lands Mills and tenements which belonged to John Hackney Junior deceased together with all the singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances there unto belonging and the said James Hackney aforesaid shall and by these presents will forever warrant and defend the right and title hereby conveyed unto the said John Hackney his heirs and assigns against him the said James Hackney his heirs and assigns all and every other person or persons whatever In witness whereof he has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us

Henry Deputy Clerk of the County Court of Blount County Thomas Hackney on the 4th day of October 1837 one of the witnesses to the within deed and on this day personally appeared before me Samuel Lee another witness who being each sworn agreeable to the different dates depose and say that they are personally acquainted with James Hackney the within named bargainer that they herd him acknowledge the within deed of conveyance to be his hand and deed for the purpose therein contained on the day it has date.
