Samuel and Mary Lee of McMinn County to John Hackney, 26 September 1838, Blount County, TN, DB Q:31

This indenture made this the twenty sixth day of Sept in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty eight between Saml Lee and Mary Lee of the one part of the county of McMinn and John Hackney of the other part of the county of Blount and all of the State of Tennessee witnesseth that the said Saml and Mary Lee for and in consideration of the sum one hundred and seventy(?) dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged do bargain and sell unto the said John Hackney his heirs and assigns forever Their individual share of all the right and title that they the said Saml & Mary Lee has unto the lands Mills and tenements lying and being in the county of Blount on the waters of Gallihers Creek it being the lands Mills & Tenements which belonged to John Hackney Jun Decd together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging and the said Saml & Mary Lee shall and by these presents will forever warrant and defend the right and title hereby conveyed unto the said John Hackney his heirs and assigns against them the said Saml & Mary Lee their heirs and assigns & against all and every other person or persons whatever in witness whereof they have set their hands and seals the day and year above written. Henry Deputy Clerk of the County Court of Blount County Harlen Mathews on of the witnesses to the within deed on the ?th of December 1838 and on this 18th May 1840 appeared before me John Briant the other witness who being each duly sworn depose and say they are personally acquainted with Saml Lee & Mary Lee the within named bargainors that they seen them sign and heard them each acknowledge the within deed to be their act and deed for the purposes therein contained on the day it bears date Registered May 20th 1840 by A McClain Reg for B Cty
