John T. and Mary E. Perry to Tavneh Head, 216.7 acres, 22 November 1853, Logan

This Indenture made this 22nd day of November 1953 between John T. Perry and Mary E. Perry his wife of the first part and Tavneh Head of the second part, all of Logan County Kentucky. Witnesseth that the said Perry & wife for and in consideration of the sum of Eleven hundred and ninety one dollars and 85 cents to them in hand paid by the said Head the Receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the said Perry doth by these presents bargain sell and convey unto the said Head a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Logan County Kentucky and on the water of Dry fork and bounded as followeth. Beginning on a stone standing on the North side of said Road going to McDowell and Brown Thence with Browns line N27 1/4W 157 poles to a post oak, and Black Oak, course to sd Brown & McCormack, thence S86W 106 poles to 2 hickories & Black Oaks corner to John Doyle, Thence with his line S6 3/4E 120.2(?) to 2 post oaks corner to Doyle Ginites(?) and Hardy, thence with Hardy's line S42E 153 poles to a sweet Gumb marked H corner to said Hardy and Armstrong, thence with Armstrong's line E58 poles to a white oak, and Black oak, thence N75E 17 3/4 to a white oak, (dead & down marked a small dogwood at its Roots. Thence N9 1/4W 125 3/4 poles to the Beginning, containing 216.7 acres, to have and to hold the before described tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Head his heirs and assigns forever, free from the claim of the said Perry his heirs and assigns forever, and free from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons Whatever claiming or to claim the same or any part or parcel thereof in any way or manner whatever the said Perry will warrant and forever defend, In testimony of which said Perry & wife hereto set their names & seals the date first herein written.

I James E. Wright clerk of the Logan County Court do certify that this deed from John T. Perry and Mary E. Perry his wife to Tavneh Head was on the 22nd day of November 1852 produced to me in my office and acknowledged by said John T. Perry and Mary E. to be their act and deed, Whereupon the same together with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 30th day of November 1853.
