Tavenah Head to son, John Head, 50 acres, 11 November 1868, Logan County, Kentucky, DB 44:519.

For & in consideration of Thirteen dollars & one half per acre paid and the further consideration hereinafter named I hereby sell & convey to John Head my son fifty acres of land in Logan County Ky. bounded as follows. Beginning at a rock on the North Side of the Highland Lick road, going West, running, thence South Six (6) East 95 poles to a rock near a large Ash tree, and a Small walnut as a pointer, on SD Blakeys line, thence North 84 1/2 E 79 poles to a post oak, corner to said Blakey, thence north 25E 83 poles to the middle of the road aforesaid, thence with the said road North 87 west 125 poles to the Beginning by actual Survey containing fifty acres. To have & to hold the Same, with all its appurtenances, to him his heirs & assigns forever & I hereby agree & covenant with the said Head vc, to warrant & defend the title to the same forever. the further consideration hereof is that I am in debt & the within sale enables me to pay off my debts & I am old & unable to work all my land & thereby make the money to otherwise discharge them & I also wish to have one of my children near me to aid me with his counsel & keep me company in my old age, & I have in my own judgment sold it for a sufficient price in which I am concurred with by two of my neighbors selected to value it, and I have pursuaded my said Son to purchase the same. Given under my hand & seal this November 11th 1868. And --------- Head wife of the said Tavenah Head hereby releases and relinquishes her claim & right to dower in the land hereby conveyed.

I, J.W. Winlock Clerk of the Logan County Court do certify that the foregoing deed was on the 25th day of Jany 1869 produced to me in my office and acknowledged by Tavenah Head to be his act and deed and on the 18 day of March 1871 produced to me again as afsd and further & fully acknowledged by Mrs. V.E. Head wife of said Tavenah Head to be her act and deed. Given under my hand March 18, 1871
