V.E. Head, widow of Tavenah, to Henry M. Davis, all property, 9 August 1876, Logan
County, Kentucky, DB 52:60.
This Deed of conveyance, made and entered into this 9th day of August 1876 between V.E. Head (widow of the late Tavenah Head Dec) of the one part, and Henry M. Davis of the other part (Witnesseth) that for and consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and fifty Dollars paid as follows (viz) Fifty Dollars due and payable the 1st day of February 1877, the second due and payable the 1st of February 1878, the third due and payable the 1st day of February 1879 the fourth due and payable the 1st day of February 1880, the fifth due and payable the 1st day of February 1881 I have conveyed , bargained and sold to the said Davis my entire interest in the lands of Tavenah Head Dec (viz) My Dower right in the Land on which I now reside and the party of the first part further covenants and promises to defend the right and title to the party of the second part during the period of her natural life, free from the claims of all persons whatever. I, Jo. W. Winlock, Clerk of the Logan County Court do certify that the foregoing Deed from Mrs. V.E. Head to Henry M. Davis was on this day produced to me in my office and acknowledged by said Mrs. V.E. Head to be her act and deed and lodged for record Whereupon the same together with this certificate has been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 10 day of August 1876.
