Thomas E. Head and Emily, his wife, to James Gibbs, 11 acres, 11 April 1888, Logan County, Kentucky, DB 65:328.

This Deed made the 11 day of April 1888 between Thomas E. Head and Emily A. Head his wife of the County of Logan, State of Ky, parties of the first and James Gibbs of the County and State aforesaid party of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars cash in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and hereby convey unto said second party a certain tract or parcel of land in Logan County Ky about 3 miles West of Russellville and bounded as follows: Beginning at white oak and black oak, corner to Blakey and Davis, thence with Blakeys line N77 E 4.30 chains to dogwood corner to Blakey, thence with Blakeys and Heads line N7 W 15.91 ch to rock corner to Thomas E. Head, thence with his line S83 W8.40 ch to rock corner to Head in Davis line thence with Davis line S17 3/4 E 16.71 ch to rock in Davis line thence with his line N82 3/4 E1.00 ch to the Beginning and containing 11 acres. A right of way 10 ft wide on the East side of said Heads land from the Highland Lick road to the above described land is hereby granted. To have and to hold said property unto said second party his heirs and assigns forever "with covenant of General warranty" releasing all rights of Homestead and Dower.
