Samuel G. Headler and Nancy H. Headler to Joel Jenkins, 80 acres, 5 December 1845, Greene County, MO, Deed Book E:232, MO State Archives, microfilm #2482.

This Indenture made this 5th day of December in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty five between Samuel G. Headler and Nancy H. Headler his wife of the County of Green and State of Missouri of the one part and Joel Jenkins of the County of Greene and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel G. Headler and Nancy H. Headler his wife for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifty Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Joel Jenkins the heir and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of Land situate and being in the County of Green & in the State of Missouri to wit the West half of the North East quarter of Section No Fourteen Township No Thirty Range No Twenty-two West containing Eighty acres more or less. Together with all and singular the appurtenances there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Joel Jenkins his heirs and assigns forever And the said Samuel G. Headler and Nancy H. Headler his wife the aforesaid premises and the said Joel Jenkins his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said Samuel G. Headler and Nancy H. Headler his wife party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

This is to certify that Samuel G. Headler and Nancy H. Headler his wife did this day personally appear before me R W Sims an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said County both personally known to me to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the within conveyance and acknowledge the same to be their act and deed for the purpose therein contained And also that the aforesaid Nancy H. Headler was made acquainted with the contents of the conveyance and being examined apart from her husband acknowledged that she executed the same and relinquishees her right dowery to the real estate therein contained freely and without compulsion or undue influence of her husband. Given under my hand this fifth day of December 1845.
