Boston Stalnaker Will, 22 January 1826, Randolph County, VA, WB 2:174-176.

In the Name of God Amen, I Boston Stalnaker of the County of Randolph and the State of Virginia being weak of body but of sane mind and desposing memory do hereby make this my Last will and testament revoking all others. First it is my will and desire that all my Just Debts be paid and also my funeral expenses. I do also will and bequeath unto my wife Margaret Stalnaker one third part of my estate both real and personal during her natural life and after her decease the Dower land which I give unto her to be divided equally between my three sons Warwick, Alexander and Hambleton and the Personal Property which I give unto my wife Margaret it is my will and desire that she dispose of it at her death as she may think proper I do furthermore give and bequeath unto my three sons Warwick Stalnaker, Alexander Stalnaker and Hambleton all my lands or real estate which I may die seized of to enjoy forever to be divided between them as follows to wit. One third part of quanty to be taken off of the lower end I give unto my son Warwick Stalnaker and one third part of quantity to be taken off the uper end I give to my son Alexander Stalnaker and the remaining third which is to contain the Mansion House I give unto my son Hambleton Stalnaker. It is my desire that my wife Margaret retain the Mansion House in her third during her natural Life. And should my land be divided between my three sons heretofore names before the Death of my wife it is my wish that it shall be redivided after her decease as to give unto my three sons heretofore named an agreed quantity of all my land to be divided as aforesaid. I do furthermore give unto my son Warwick Stalnaker a gray mare and a Rifle gun - I do also give unto Alexander Stalnaker my son Hambleton Stalnaker a Chesnut sorrel Colt. Item I give unto my three sons Warrick, Alexander & Hambleton all my blacksmith tools but to be kept on the place until Hambleton become of age. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Ferdinand Stalnaker One horse beast which I let him have when he was married. I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Polly White who married Matthew White One horse beast which I let her have when she was married. I do also give and bequeath unto Betsey Crouch one horse beast which I let her have when she was married. And I do furthermore give and bequeath unto Dorcas Mace who married William Mace One horse beast which I let her have when she was married and also having given sundry other property unto my son Ferdinand and my Daughters Polly Betsey and Dorcas when then left me. It is my will and desire that all the residue of my property not heretofore disposed of be equally divided between my four Daughters to wit, Katharine, Margaret, Nancy and Eliza. I do furthermore constitute and appoint my son Ferdinand Stalnaker my Executor of this my last will and Testament.
