William Henderson and William Gillespy give power of attorney to Robert Finley, 1 September 1791, Augusta County, Virginia, deed book 27:290.

Know all men by these presents that we William Henderson and William Gillespy of the County of Green and State of North Carolina for divers considerations and good causes thereunto moving have made ordained Constitute and Appointed and by these presents do Constitute and appoint my trusty friend Robert Finley of the County of Augusta and State of Virginia my true and lawfull attorney for me and in my name to make sale of Receive payment and make a good Sufficient and Lawfull Deed for one Certain Tract of Land Containing 200 acres lying on Christians Creek in the County of Augusta as fully throughly and intirety as though we William Henderson and William Gillespy were both present and signed the Deed allowing and Confirming whatsoever our said attorney shall do or Cause to be done in the above Mentioned Land by virtue of these presents in witness where of we had hereunto set our hands and affixed our Seals this 1st day of September 1791.
