Dear Aunty
There has bin quite a lapse of time since I have hurd directly from you I have bin waiting and
hoping that you would write me but have came to the conclusion that you cannot find time. I had
intended to write to you last week but was prevented by a slite acident which happened to me got
my hand cought in the Arastra and Smarted so that I was not able to engineer the penn very well
and now to day I can scarsley gripp it but then I knew that uncle John will keep you posted in
every thing of importance concerning this country and I don't suppose that any thing that I can
write will be new or interesting. The Juniper is looking splendid at presant the company is in high
spirits the new machinery is working all right we just finished clening up last night and uncle and
Mr. Cyrus went to aden carying withem about Tenn thousand that being from about 21 Tons of
ore but I suppose that uncle will more fully explain it to you. Well Aunty, I wish you had came
up this summer I thin that you would have liked the place better for things are fixed more
comfortable than they were last summer and the wether so far has bin plesant yesterday and to
day has bin and is the warmest days of the season so far well how is my S.T. Girl behaving as do
you hold any communications with her by the way uncle tells me that you have got a little down
on her and he seems to think that she is a little an the coquet if she is I don't want mutch to do
with her for I have all I want of that king of thing. But I can't see exactly how one is to tell untill
it is too late to save him sell [self?]. but if that even be the case and she should throw ???? I gues I
should drown my self, but howeve I shant give her ashame by your letter to uncle I see that they
are going to have Mr Morrys the Howell Mountain Girl I am very glad to hear of the happy ???
but they haven't asked my concent yet but I suppose this all right well Aunty, I must close for its
nearing 11 o'clock and At 11 there is to be a grand wedding take place at our bording house A
genuine Modoc weddin and I wouldn't miss it for any thing. Mr. Ben Waymen Miss Harvy are
realy going to splice may the Lord bless them is my prair.
