This Indenture made this Eleventh Day of July in
the year of our Lord god one thousand seven hundred and sixty-three
Betweem John Brent and Mragarett his wife of Lunenburgh
County of the one Part and David Caldwell of the said County
of the other Part Whereas Thomas Caldwell father of the Named
Margarett in his lifetime settled one Tract of Land on the
lower side of Cubb Creek in Lunenburgh County Blumb? branch
And Bounded as Followeth To Wit; Beginning at a hickory on
Cubb Creek thence South Twenty Degreed East forty eight
Poles to a white oak thence South Thirty one Degrees west one
Hundred and sixty poles to an oak thence twenty nine Degrees
East eighty four Poles to a Dogwood on a Branch thence South
twenty one Degrees West one hundred and Sixty poles to red
Oak thence South sixty poles to red oak thence north sixty

Seven Degrees west two hundred twenty six poles to a
Hickory on Cubb Creek thence up the said Creek and meanders
to the Beginning Containing Estimation Five hundred Acres
Be the same more or less and is the same Tract of Land where
David Caldwell now liveth but being formerly Settled by the
Said Thomas Caldwell whose Daughter Margarett is now
intermarried with the said John Brent and as the said Thomas
Caldwell Died without making any Will or leaving any Issue
Except said Margarett And by Reason of the above
Named Thomas Caldwell Setling the said land it is reported
that his heir is entitled to the said land therefore to Prevent any
and all further Difference or controversies that might arise through
any Claim of the said John Brent or Margarett his wife to any part
of the above said land and Premises whatsoever Now this Indenture
Witnesseth that the above named John Brent and Margarett his
wife for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Pounds Current
Money of Virginia to them in hand Paid bye the said David Caldwell
on or before the searling and Delivery of these Presents The Receipt
delivery of the said John Brent and Margarett his wife doth hereby
acknowledge hath given granted Bargained and sold Aliened and
Confirmed and by these Presents doth give grant Bargain and sell
Alienate and Confirm unto the said David Caldwell al the aforesaid
Tract or parcel of Land and Premises above mentioned together with all
trees woods underwoods Profits Commodities advantages or Emoluments
Hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever therewith belonging
or any wise appertaining and the Reversions and ???
and Remainder rents Issues and Rights of all and Singular the said
Premises and of every part and Parcel thereof With the appurtenances
and also all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim and Demand what
soever within in Equity or Son? of them the said John Brent and Margarett
his wife on their heirs or assigns of in and to tract or Parcel
of land and Premises and every Part thereof. To have and to hold

The said Tract of Parcel of land and Premises above mentioned and any
Part and Parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said David
Caldwell his heirs and assigns forever and they the said John Brent
and Margarett his wife for them and their Heirs and assigns forever
and against them their heirs and assigns for ever the said Tract or
Parcel of Land and Premises above mentioned with the appurtenances
unto the said David Caldwell his heirs and assigns shall and will
warrant and forever Defend In Witness whereof they have Inter-
changeble set their hand and affixed their Seals the day and year
first above written
