Petition, Thomas Caldwell, William Boyd and Sarah his wife, late Sarah Caldwell, exex. of George Caldwell, summoned to give Thomas Caldwell counter security to deliver up testator's estate. (p. 110-B) William Boyd entered into security with James Alexander.

Petition, Sarah Boyd, late widow and relict of George Caldwell, requested that the part of estate not devised in George Caldwell's will be continued in her hands, as exes. Court was divided, so petition continued unto a fuller court.

This day has came the Petitioners their all and the defendants Rosbro's (Rosbrough?) prays whereas time to answer the Petitioners bill till next court and then to plead And defendants George and Mary Coldwell not appearing. On the motion of the plaintifs attorney an attachement is awarded them against the said defendants George and Mary Colewell returnable here to the next court, and the other defendants William Thomasson and Jane his wife and Henry Coldwell not being arrested on the motion of the plaintifs by their attorney. New proceds is awarded.


Mary Caldwell, daughter of George Caldwell, is not the wife of John Finley (?-1782), of August, Prince Edward, and Wythe Counties, Virginia. They were married by 1750. This Mary appears unmarried in 1755.
